As part of Centacare's ongoing committment to building and maintaining a Child Safe Organisation, Child Protection training continues to be offered annually to all staff through the Child Wise organisation’s 'Choose With Care' program. Through its information and training program, Child Wise provides a proactive, preventative and participatory approach to building and maintaining child safe organisations.

The following is a list of key areas covered in the one day training:
- Staff and volunteer recruitment, selection and screening procedures
- Developing a Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct
- Systems for responding to complaints and allegations of abuse
- Legal issues and responsibilities
- The ongoing maintenance of a child safe organisation
