Rural families and businesses are experiencing many hardships as a result of drought. These hardships can contribute to family stress, conflict and ultimately breakdown. The effect on the individuals in families can vary from loneliness, anger, isolation, desperation and hopelessness.

The workers in this service are available to assist any family experiencing hardship as a result of the drought. Counselling, referral, practical assistance, education through group sessions and other interventions aimed at strengthening the family unit are available.

The service is available throughout the Murray Mallee and Upper South East. It is located centrally in Murray Bridge with outreach facilities as well as home visiting options available.
