Our Services - Northern Parent Resource Program

The service offers home-based family counselling and group work in parenting. The service offers counselling, support and information to parents and carers and families within their home.   The primary focus is on encouraging, supporting and educating parents/carers with the aim of enhancing and developing parenting skills and improving parent/child relationships.

The common issues that the team works with include, children’s behaviour, family conflict, grief and loss issues, divorce and/or separation, issues which impact on parenting and advocacy.   Parenting courses run for 6 weeks during school term.   Free crèche is available during the parenting courses, which is provided by the volunteers, trained by NPRP. The volunteer childcare workers are also available, on request to provide childcare to other agencies and organisations.
