Centacare offers two pre-marriage programs for couples who are engaged to be married, have made a long term commitment to each other or just interested in how to get the best out of their relationship.

What is Pre-Marriage Education?

A long term committed relationship is a life-long journey with many transitions. Pre-marriage education programs are an opportunity for couples to come together with a professional educator to evaluate the journey so far and set the direction for their future together. In these programs the couple will reflect on the strengths they bring to the relationship, and take a fresh look at the areas of growth and challenge.

For those couples with wedding dates already set, premarriage education is best undertaken three to six months prior. However, we realise that it is not always feasible and therefore Centacare will be as flexible as possible in accommodating your individual circumstances.

Centacare provides two ways to enrol in pre-marriage education. The first is for couples who prefer to work in a group environment with other couples. This program is called ‘Is Love Enough?’ and consists of two sessions. The other is for those people who would be more comfortable working with a Marriage Educator in a private setting. The title of this program is ‘Time for Us’.

Both programs are provided by trained and experienced educators.

'IS LOVE ENOUGH?’
This program is based on current research about what makes marriages successful. The program is conducted in a group environment with other couples over two sessions. ‘Is Love Enough?’ will give you the opportunity to explore your relationship but also with the added benefit of sharing similar stories with other couples.

Saturday 10:00am - 04:00pm

‘TIME FOR US’
If you would feel more comfortable working with a Marriage Educator in a private setting, then this is the program for you.

‘Time For Us’ uses an inventory called FOCCUS which helps couples learn more about themselves and their relationship.

It is not a test or a predictor of success or failure in marriage however, it assists couples identify strengths and areas of growth. Some of the topics covered in the inventory are:

- Expectations Friends and interests
- Parenting styles Children
- Communication Financial matters
- Managing differences Faith and spirituality

This program is structured over a minimum of three (3) one hour sessions with an Educator.

Appointments are available:
09:00am to 05:00pm Monday to Friday
05.00pm to 09:00pm Wednesday and Thursday
