The Targeted Early Intervention Service (TEIS) is a multi disciplinary team that provides wraparound outreach services for vulnerable children and families. Working in partnership with 12 Families SA district centres across metropolitan Adelaide, Gawler/Barossa, Mount Barker, the Fleurieu, Kangaroo Island, Murray Bridge, the Riverland and Mount Gambier, TEIS can only receive referrals from Families SA.

The target group is families who have been notified to Families SA, where there are serious child protection concerns, however Families SA are not at the point of considering removal of the children from the family home. Hence, it is intervention at the early stages of the family’s involvement with the child protection system.

Generally after referral to TEIS, Families SA close the case and the TEIS team take over Case Management of the family to address the child protection concerns.
