This program provides an innovative and exciting way to reach vulnerable families with young children within the Aboriginal communities in the Murraylands region.

This program provides mobile intensive support playgroups set up in Aboriginal communities to engage young children and their families in quality play experiences as well as providing parents/ family members with support from a team of professional workers.

The Family Support Worker facilitates playgroups and when requested by families, can provide a home visiting service that includes counselling, parenting and relationship support, referrals and other support as identified by the family and the worker. This role requires a commitment to working with Aboriginal families and closing the gap between Aboriginal and non Aboriginal communities. The Family Support Worker and other team members will be working collaboratively with families, communities and services to provide a child focused playgroup service.

COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE - SEATON

The Targeted Early Intervention Service (TEIS) provides a service for families who have been notified to the Child Abuse Report Line and referred to Centacare by Families SA for the provision of outreach family support services.

The Community Health Nurse is responsible for participating in the provision of health promotion, education, health appraisals, counselling, referral and consultancy to address child protection risk factors from a health perspective.

The successful applicant will have accreditation as a Registered Nurse and a thorough knowledge and understanding of child development, the early identification of and monitoring of child health, developmental milestones and an understanding of attachment theory, parental drug and alcohol misuse and parental mental health issues.

The Targeted Early Intervention Service (TEIS) provides a service for families who have been notified to the Child Abuse Report Line and referred to Centacare by Families SA for the provision of outreach family support services.

The Specialist Therapist is responsible for undertaking the assessment and treatment of children and young people at risk; maintaining a focus on the identification and implementation of early intervention strategies and providing individual and/or group therapy for children, young people and their families. Acting as a consultant to the TEIS team, these services will be undertaken in both office and home-based settings.

The successful applicant will specialise in Attachment Theory and the effects of trauma on parenting capacity, and hold qualifications in Infant Mental Health, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or other related field.
