Sometimes a second, fresh set of eyes looking at a client’s complex co-morbidity situation is what is needed.

Our Co-morbidity Specialist Consultant at Centacare can help.  Working alongside an existing worker, we can provide a specialist brief intervention provided to clients who have complex co-occurring mental health and Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) issues.  Primary consultations can also include attendance at case conferences and appropriate referrals to relevant agencies.  We also can provide a secondary consultation including phone consultation, sharing resources and assessment tools and information on specific drug or alcohol and the impact of mental health.

The provision of training for workers in NGOS in the AOD sector is also a key component of this service. Professional training and development to increase the capacity of workers who are working with clients who have co-occurring mental health and AOD issues.

Training is an accredited Diploma in AOD and Mental Health with a co-morbidity focus, which is particularly useful for those working with Indigenous people and people from CALD backgrounds.
