Centacare’s IYSMS is funded by SA Health and we provide an integrated model of care for young people aged 12-24 years of age with substance misuse issues.

Two sobering up beds are available at the Stepney centre 24 hours/day, 7 days a week for young people who are identified by Police as needing a safe place to ‘sober up’.

Young people from the metropolitan or regional areas with substance use issues are also able to access the IYSMS for residential intervention (4 beds) for 6-8 weeks. We provide a range of psychosocial interventions, family work, individual support, group sessions and life skills training. Individual plans are supported by links to community services and medical practitioners. This is also a 24 hours/day, 7 days a week service.

The ISYMS also provides a range of outreach supports for young people and their families prior to and post residence.
