If you are living with a mental health issue, having someone to walk alongside on your journey can make a positive difference.
The Personal Helpers and Mentors Service supports people whose life is significantly affected by mental illness. The focus is on the individual’s recovery by providing them with opportunities, support and services to help them reconnect to community.
Centacare delivers the service in Salisbury, Tea Tree Gully and Murray Bridge. To be eligible, the applicant must reside in one of the suburbs within these council areas.
We facilitate mental health recovery and self-determination through individualised holistic and strength-based support.
Our mission is to be accessible, non-stigmatising and respectful of culture, values and diversity.
We recognise that recovery is a journey which embraces peer support, hope and community engagement.

Who: People aged 16 years and over whose ability to manage their daily activities is severely limited by mental illness. Formal diagnosis is not required. Must be living in the Salisbury, Tea Tree Gully and Murray Bridge council areas.
How: Self-referral and referral from family, friends or other agencies and mental health professionals. Please call 1800 808 908 (toll free).
