PKT is a family focused outreach service that provides opportunities in a non-threatening environment for Aboriginal families/caregivers to learn about children’s physical, intellectual and emotional development and the role it plays in school readiness.
The service is an initiative of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Indigenous Advancement Strategy to provide support for Aboriginal families with children under six years of age in the Murray Bridge and Coorong area.
The service works from a holistic family and strengths based perspective to support children. The program has a focus on getting the children prepared for school by helping the family to engage with the education system and improve outcomes for the child by promoting education as a positive journey to lifelong learning and employment opportunities.
