The School Counselling program is a safe and confidential service in which we support primary school students attending Catholic schools with personal and emotional issues, family matters and school-related concerns.
This is a contract service offered within Catholic primary schools to support children’s social and emotional needs throughout their school careers.
Our school counsellors collaborate with the school and teachers in a child-focused, trauma-responsive practice to enhance students' emotional and developmental well-being.
This service is funded by Catholic Education South Australia and Centacare Catholic Community Services.
Our counsellors use one-on-one counselling and therapeutic group work to support a trauma-sensitive intervention on issues impacting student’s wellbeing, such as:
All information provided is kept confidential and will not be disclosed to parents, teachers, or others without the child's consent. However, counsellors will explain that if they believe the child or someone else is in danger or at risk of harm, they are obligated to take action to ensure safety.
Details about privacy and confidentiality will be discussed when the child is seen.
Our service is for primary school students currently attending and enrolled in participating Catholic primary Schools.
Services are provided in collaboration with Catholic Education South Australia and Centacare Catholic Community Service. Please get in touch with your child’s school for additional information.

We are based in Adelaide CBD and Aldinga, with outreach support in participating Catholic Primary Schools across South Australia.
