Domestic & Family Violence Crisis Accommodation Program

The Domestic and Family Violence Crisis Accommodation Program (DFV-CAP) provides safe, responsive, short-term housing to victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence through short-term emergency accommodation and case management to support clients’ transition into secure, safe housing including, where safe to do so, return home.

Centacare provides DFV-CAP programs in the Limestone Coast, Murray Mallee, Adelaide Hills and Whyalla regions.

About our service

The Domestic Violence Crisis Accommodation Program works in conjunction with Centacare’s Regional Domestic Violence Services to provide an immediate safety response to victim-surivivors and their children requiring a safe accommodation option. 

Trauma focussed safety planning and case management support, along with tenancy management, are provided by Centacare’s specialist domestic and family violence case management teams.

This service is funded by Department for Human Services.

Our supports

DFV-CAP provides a range of services in conjunction with Regional Domestic Violence Services including:

  • Safe, secure and supported accommodation.
  • Case management with a trauma lens designed to mitigate immediate and ongoing risks, and provide support to access long-term safe accommodation.

Eligibility

Our service is for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.  DFV-CAP program is used as an accommodation option within a range of options provided by Centacare’s Regional Domestic Violence Services and access will be determined based on risk and safety considerations. 

DFV-CAP ensures a culturally safe response for victim-survivors from Aboriginal communities, and those from migrant and/or refugee backgrounds.
