Riverland

Riverland Domestic Violence Service

The Riverland Domestic Violence Service (RDVS) is a sector partner of the Domestic and Family Violence Safety Alliance (DFVSA).

In partnership with DFVSA, RDVS is dedicated to providing high-quality, client-focused domestic and family violence services in South Australia. Our goal is to ensure that victim-survivors (primarily women) and their children experiencing violence are safe, supported in their recovery, and able to achieve sustainable housing and life outcomes. We operate across the Riverland, addressing client and community needs shaped by their unique local contexts. Our state-wide service delivery is integrated, consolidated, and specialised, ensuring that families receiving support experience an improved journey towards safety.

About our service

RDVS supports victim-survivors of current or recent domestic and/or Aboriginal family violence who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. We offer support regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background, religious beliefs, physical or mental health conditions, or other diverse identities.

Our services are guided by the risk, safety, and identified needs of the victim-survivor, along with the availability of and access to specialist support for their unique circumstances. If necessary, we may refer individuals to other services better suited to meet their needs and ensure that all services, including accommodation, remain safe and accessible for all victim-survivors.

This service is funded by Department for Human Services.

The following values underpin our service:

  • safety first,
  • culturally responsive services,
  • transparency,
  • trauma informed,
  • person centred/child-focused,
