Whyalla

Whyalla Regional Domestic Violence Service

The Whyalla Regional Domestic Violence Service (WRDVS) offers crisis and transitional accommodation with tailored in-centre and outreach case management support for individuals referred or self-presenting, who are escaping or experiencing domestic or Aboriginal family violence.

WRDVS is a partner of the state-wide Domestic and Family Violence Safety Alliance, working together to provide comprehensive support and safety for those in need.

About our service

WRDVS supports victim-survivors of current or recent domestic and/or Aboriginal family violence who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. We offer support regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background, religious beliefs, physical or mental health conditions, or other diverse identities.

Our services are guided by the risk, safety, and identified needs of the victim-survivor, along with the availability of and access to specialist support for their unique circumstances. If necessary, we may refer individuals to other services better suited to meet their needs and ensure that all services, including accommodation, remain safe and accessible for all victim-survivors.

This service is funded by Department for Human Services.

The following values underpin our service:

  • safety first,
  • culturally responsive services,
  • transparency,
  • trauma informed,
  • person centred/child-focused,
  • evidence-led,
