Interaction with animals has been proven to help people manage stress, anxiety, depression, disengagement, emotional regulation, loneliness, social isolation and reduce burnout.
We find that holding, patting, feeding and learning about animals can provide a comfortable setting to integrate conversations on self-care and behavioural strategies.
We are based at Seaton, but our facilitators can travel to any location in the Adelaide metropolitan area and some regional locations.
Interacting with Animals can contribute positively to a person’s behavioural, emotional, and verbal distress and assist them in building self-awareness and self-regulation skills.
The variety of animals will change depending on the seasons, but they can include; kangaroo joeys, ducklings, lambs, goats, piglets, birds, lizards, and stick insects. The one constant animal is ‘Bear’, our Centacare Wellbeing dog, who has a unique knack for understanding a person’s needs.
Our program runs during school terms in several educational and disability settings for young people and adults.
We also offer:
Corporate staff wellbeing workshops focus on enhancing staff wellbeing, promoting self-care, emotional regulation, mindfulness, reducing burnout, and developing a positive team culture.
