Kindred Spirits for Nunga Families is a program specially tailored to Aboriginal families.
Centacare’s First Nations Coordinator assists in encouraging, educating and developing strategies with families to ensure they provide a safe and nurturing home while promoting positive school attendance for the children and young people within the home.
The program is designed as a short-term flexible in-home service throughout a 12-week program.
Our First Nations Coordinator provides assistance to children and young people to improve or increase their school attendance while also supporting their families to recognise issues they may be facing. Assistance is provided to identify strengths and establish goals alongside family members. We also engage with the school community to better support the child/young person.
Our program works closely with the school, medical practitioners, NDIS and other Aboriginal programs and organisations.
This program currently runs within the Gawler Council, Playford Council and City of Salisbury Council areas only.

Our service is for Aboriginal families with school aged children, who reside in the Northern Adelaide region.
Kindred Spirits is a FREE program.
We are based at Seaton and Elizabeth, with outreach support in the Northern Adelaide regions of Gawler, Playford and City of Salisbury Councils.
