Whyalla Homelessness Service provides supported transitional and crisis accommodation and other related services including information, advocacy and referral to individuals, couples and families who are living homeless or are at risk of homelessness.

The service also provides specialised services, including supported accommodation, to young people aged 15-25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

We can help you to access:

  • Crisis housing
  • Transitional housing
  • Supportive housing
  • Intensive tenancy support

There is no fee for service, however payment of rent is required for the housing programs.

Services provided

We support clients to address the life challenges leading to homelessness in order for them to exit into long-term living arrangements. This may include assisting them to budget, build independent living skills, address issues with drug and alcohol misuse, and increase their capacity to parent.

How: Referrals are accepted from individuals, families, community-based organisations and specialist homelessness services.

The service operates 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays).
